A Celebration of Irish Winemaking & Christmas Carols in Trinity College
Join Jonathan Staunton https://www.winelistguy.com on Wednesday
10th December, 2025 in the Long Room at Trinity
College under Gaia, the breath taking installation by Luke Jerram at
18:00 to celebrate David
Llewellyn’s 20th vintage from his Lusca Vineyard in
North County Dublin, a unique milestone in Irish winemaking.
What David has achieved in the past 36 years is nothing short of miraculous, and in many ways defies what anyone in the wine world thought possible about wine production in Ireland. Irish wine now has the potential to achieve in the next 10 years what English wine has achieved in the past 10 years, albeit on a much smaller scale.
The purpose of the event is to acknowledge David and his award-winning wines and is a not-for-profit event, with all ticket proceeds covering the cost of running the event.
The guest of honour is Dermot Sugrue, of Storrington Priory in the South Downs, an Irish-born winemaker behind one of England’s top quality sparkling wines. Dermot will be joined by Harriet Tindal MW and Irish Times wine writer John Wilson. Stephen Skelton MW will also attend.
The seasonal carols are courtesy of the wonderful Trinitones choir.
This is a Christmas wine event not to be missed! Tickets are now on sale:
