John Small set up J Small Wines in 2023 after nearly 17 years working in the wine industry.  John started his career in 2006 with Jackson Wine Estates International, working initially in logistics and sales, before taking on the role of Operations Manager for eight years.  More recently John was a partner in Coast-to-Coast Wines, where he gained enormous experience working with Spanish wine producers. 

It comes as no surprise therefore to find that his new venture features a top-quality selection of wines from some of Spain’s top DO’s, including DO Catalunya, DO Penedès, DOCa Rioja, DO Rías Baixas, DOQ Priorat, DO Empordà, DO Terra Alta, DO Montsant, DO Cava, DO Castilla, DO Ribeira Sacra, DO Castilla y Léon, DO Ribera del Duero, DO Rueda, DO Torro, DO Ribera del Júcar, DO Navarra and Tierra de la Castilla.    

The J Small Wines portfolio also includes producers from Argentina (Mendoza), Australia (Clare Valley, Langhorne Creek & South Australia), Portugal (Tejo), South Africa (Stellenbosch) and USA (Washington State). 

A tasting of the portfolio of wines exported by J Small Wines will take place on Wednesday 29^th May, 2024 in the Royal Dublin Society (RDS), Members Club, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4. The tasting by invitation only and is open to Trade, Press, Sommeliers, Independent Retailers, Group Buyers, and Educators.  Representatives from some of the wineries will attend the tasting, offering the trade the opportunity to learn more about them, directly from the producers. The tasting will start at 11:00 and will run until 17:00.

John will also be available for B2B meetings on Monday 27^th and Tuesday 28^th May, in the RDS (Members Club) meetings by appointment only.
