Brazilian Wine Fair & Masterclass
The Embassy of Brazil
in Ireland in association with Wines of Brazil will be holding a Masterclass
and Wine Fair on Thursday 23rd March, 2023. The search
for new wine experiences means that wines from Brazil offer a new dimension to
the wine trade. Brazil produces a diverse range of wines and has a wine
culture that stretches back over 100 years. Brazil is best known for its
sparkling wines and in 2021 sold over 6.2 million liters of it. Sparking wine
has become an important part of Brazil’s winemaking identity. The
production of sparkling wine in Brazil originated in Serra Gaucha in the early
19th century when Italian immigrants first started its
production in the city of Garibaldi.
90% of Brazilian wine
production originates in the Rio Grande do Sul located to the south of the
country on the border with Argentina and Uruguay.
