Ribero del Duero Wine Dinner @ The Step House
Pictured: The Duero River in DO Ribera del Duero
Ribera del Duero has partnered with The Step House Hotel in Carlow to showcase the perfect pairings between wines from the D.O. Ribera del Duero and winter favorites such as game and roast meats.
Wine writer, wine expert and bon vivant, Tomás Clancy of the Sunday Business Post and Newstalk's Moncrieff Show, is the guest speaker. Expect an evening of great food, excellent wine and an insight into what these wines are all about.
Talented head chef Alan Foley will create a series of dishes featuring the very best seasonal, local produce to match the wine. The menu will include foie gras cream with quail cromqesquis, apple vinaigrette, spiced brioche and apple salad; wild pigeon pithivier with onion soubise and madeira jus; and red deer served with chocolate fig puree, charred onion, liquorice jus and spiced granola.
Wine has been produced in the beautiful wine region of Ribera del Duero since Roman times. Just two hours north of Madrid, there are nearly 300 wineries making wine along the banks of the Duero River in the Castilla y León region. From the ‘Joven’ wines to the ‘Gran Reservas’, these are wines of exemplary depth and balance.
Wines from Spain is delighted to be involved in the organisation of the evening.
Pre-booking is required, please book directly with the Step House. The evening costs €55 per person including wine. There is a special overnight rate at The Step House available from just €45 per person sharing including breakfast.
