Tasting with Peter Mulryan of Blackwater Distillery

Consumer Event
Date: 21/06/2018 - 21/06/2018 Time: 20:00 - 21:30

Join Peter Mulryan of Blackwater Distillery,  the first distillery in Waterford in 174 years.  Blackwater launched a series of hugely successful gins including their flagship No.5 Small Batch Gin and the delicious Wexford Strawberry Gin. Blackwater launched Retronaut Irish Whisky last year, a curated series of limited edition and start distilling their own Irish Whisky this summer.

Guests will also be treated to the secret history of Absinthe: The Green Fairy. A precursor to the ‘Happy Hour’ known today, L’Heure Verte (5pm) transformed 19th century cafes into marvellous meetings of creative and artistic minds who all favoured the infamous Green Fairy. So go ‘In Seine’ with Ireland’s first absinthe and learn more about the world’s most vilified spirit.

The event begins at 8pm sharp and includes a guided talk & tasting along with a cocktail/ drink to finish at 9:30pm approximately. Spaces are limited, tickets are available to purchase on irishwhiskeymusuem.ie and cost €15 per person.

The Irish Whiskey Museum can be found at the end of Grafton Street.  For the last three years, the Irish Whiskey Museum has been celebrating all things whiskey. Not affiliated to any one distillery, guests have enjoyed learning the vast history of uisce beatha while being able to sample a variety of whiskeys from a range of distilleries across the country.
